Who is in Your Corner?
NAMI Metro Baltimore’s 2019 Annual Meeting celebrates the community of people who make a difference in the lives of individuals living with mental health conditions. We celebrate the family members, neighbors, coworkers, peer leaders, and others who are in your corner.
We will also share NAMI Metro Baltimore’s accomplishments over the past year as we stand in the corner of all people whose lives are impacted by mental illness.
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Marsden McGuire. Dr. McGuire currently serves as the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Director, Continuum of Care and General Mental Health Services in the Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. He is also the President-Elect of the Maryland Psychiatric Society and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. In 2018, Dr. McGuire was recognized as a NAMI Exemplary Psychiatrist. Dr. McGuire will speak to how having someone in your corner to offer support – from early intervention and prevention to engagement in recovery – can make a difference in the life of someone living with a mental health condition.
Event admission includes food and refreshments during the reception hour. A discounted ticket rate is available to NAMI members. Learn more about becoming a member.
Each year, NAMI Metro Baltimore presents awards during our Annual Meeting. Annual awards recognize volunteers, a mental health professional, and City and County police officers for their exemplary work to better the lives of people impacted by mental illness and their families.
