More than half of American children reported having experienced a trauma before the age of 16. Children who experience trauma can experience profound emotional, behavioral and physiological symptoms and intervention is critical to promote healing. This workshop will focus on the impact of trauma on children, adolescents and their families. Through this workshop participants will explore the definition of trauma, learn the signs and symptoms of childhood trauma and will explore treatment options to promote healing.
Presenter: Emily Driscoll-Roe, LCSW-C, Supervising Social Worker at the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
