The Stoop Storytelling Series in partnership with Jewish Community Services, Behavioral Health System Baltimore, Catholic Charities, MedStar Health, Baltimore Jewish Council, Maryland Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence, NAMI Metro Baltimore, Goucher College, and Baltimore Magazine, will present “Of Substance: Real, personal stories about our complicated and contradictory relationships with drugs and alcohol.” on Tuesday, March 31st at Goucher College’s Kraushaar Auditorium.
For the show, we’re seeking 7 storytellers to share a 7-minute true, personal tale about their experience with drugs and alcohol — the thrills, the perils, the regrets, the struggles, the addiction, and the consequences.
We’re seeking a wide range of stories from anyone who has experienced or been impacted by, drugs or alcohol. The stories can be funny, sad, serious — as long as they’re true.
We are particularly interested in stories from young adults, about young adults or from people whose story happened when they were a young adult.
Got a tale to share? Submit it here. Submissions will be reviewed, and selected storytellers will receive in-person story coaching from The Stoop producers.
Remember: This is a storytelling event — not a TED talk, academic lecture, or reading. The stories will be shared with audience as if with a group of friends. No notes, no memorizing!
