Mental Health Education Conference for Faith Leaders

NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore warmly invites faith leaders serving in Baltimore City and County to join us for a transformative day of learning and connection at our Mental Health Education Conference for Faith Leaders on Wednesday, May 29th from 9:00am – 3:00pm. This conference will be held at Morgan State University’s University Student Center Ballroom.

One in 5, or 284,000 people in Baltimore live with a mental health condition, and 1 in 3 young adults report feeling anxious or depressed.

In today’s world, faith leaders and lay leaders play a vital role not only in spiritual guidance but also in supporting mental health within their communities. This event is designed to equip you with valuable insights and resources to effectively navigate the complexities of mental health issues within your congregation.

Join us as we delve into crucial topics including:

  • Leadership in Times of Crisis: Discover strategies for guiding your community through challenging times with resilience and compassion.
  • Supporting Youth & Young Adult Mental Health: Gain valuable insights into addressing the unique mental health needs of young people within your congregation.
  • Navigating Compassion Fatigue in Faith Leadership: Learn how to recognize and manage compassion fatigue to sustain your own well-being while providing support to others.
  • Building Mental Health Supports in Your Congregation: Explore practical ways to create a supportive environment for mental health awareness and assistance within your faith community.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with fellow faith leaders, exchange ideas, and enhance your ability to make a positive impact on mental health in Baltimore. Together, we can create communities where everyone feels supported and understood.

*Participants who fill out the post-event survey will be entered to win a free library of fiction and non-fiction books related to mental health valued at $300!
